CBD Microdosing

Microdosing is the latest technique for consuming CBD oil, and has already gained tremendous traction with both CBD providers and users. Currently the CBD industry provides little information and much confusion about CBD microdosing, especially for someone starting out. To help make more sense, we have put together this helpful guide detailing everything you need to know about CBD microdosing.

Microdosing

Let’s start with the basics. What is microdosing? According to a study from the Journal of Psychopharmacology, the technical definition of a microdose would be a dose of a drug that is only 1% of the active dose [1]. However, the common term for microdosing, a small fraction of a “normal dose,” is rather vague and doesn’t provide a numerical value. The definition we will refer to is the action or practice of taking or administering exceedingly small amounts of a drug in order to test or benefit from its physiological action while minimizing undesirable side effects.

CBD Microdosing

CBD microdosing is a low-dose technique for taking CBD which is intended to help you reap the most health and wellness benefits. Instead of taking one large dose of CBD each day, microdosing allows you to break the dosage into several smaller ones you consume throughout the day. Microdosing over the course of a day allows you to experience the potential benefits of CBD oil for longer periods of time. If you were to take the full daily recommended dose all at once, the effects would wear off relatively quickly, offering only short-term benefits. CBD oil can be taken orally, sublingually, applied topically, smoked or even vaped [2]. No matter the type of CBD product, microdosing is a great way to tailor your dosage to match your needs, style, and condition.

CBD Microdosing Dosage

The amount of CBD you should take while microdosing will vary. Before you try microdosing ask yourself what your goal is for incorporating CBD into your self-care routine. What are you trying to achieve? There are a lot of variables that go into deciding how much CBD to use and how often to use it. It’s always a good idea to talk to your doctor first; they may have a recommendation based on your health history and overall intentions. For tips on figuring out your perfect microdose check out our blog: “How much CBD is right for you?”

Broad-Spectrum and CBD Isolate are not intoxicating, nor do they produce any psychoactive effects when taken in either small or large doses (To learn more about the different types of CBD, please refer to our blog: “Understanding the Types of CBD"). All our products at &Sunny are made with Premium Grade Broad-Spectrum Oil derived from hemp. We crafted our CBD self-care products with lower doses so you can enjoy the daily benefits of CBD any time of day – just enough of what you need whenever you need it most.
